Crazy Cock Cider - Stafford Cidery

A long time ago, Dan and Jodi were both laid off from their jobs within a year of each other. In an effort to find cheap drinks, they started experimenting with making their own alcohol. Cider turned out to be the most fun and the journey began. They started working on hard apple ciders with unique flavors and ingredients, because those were the most fun not only to drink but to make. Peanut butter, chocolate, hops, and more: Dan tried (and continues to experiment with) nearly everything under the sun in crafting his and Jodi's ciders. But they needed a name for these new drinks.

The backyard of Dan and Jodi's home was spacious and open, so they had taken up the hobby of keeping chickens. A beloved rooster named Sergeant Pepper, was pride of the backyard. A mottled cochin (go ahead and look it up!), he was the friendliest roo in the world. Now, being on the smaller side, Sgt. Pepper loved to roam in Dan and Jodi's big yard. Sometimes he would run across the yard at full speed, an act which was hysterical to watch. They started calling him the crazy cock and realized it would be a perfect name for the new drink!

At Stafford Cidery, you can enjoy a drink of many different flavors of hard cider while enjoying the rooster-themed ambiance of the space. Guests and Crazy Cock enthusiasts from all over bring Jodi and Dan new memorabilia to decorate the community space with. Down below, next to an old bread oven from the early 1900s, Dan works his magic crafting delicious ciders for Jodi to serve to the patrons upstairs in the lovely, community-focused space.

Stop by and share a drink at Stafford Cidery and give a toast to the original crazy cock; Sergeant Pepper!
